"I am extremely passionate about helping student’s succeed in their academic journeys and ensuring an inclusive environment centered on the needs of the individual student. My motto is, we all learn differently! There is no right or wrong way to learn and develop intellectual growth. I pride myself in my ability to foster strong relationships with my students, advisees, and tutees that are rooted in trust and empathy. My approach includes getting to know you as an individual, your strengths, and specific targeted areas for improvement.
Through my experience as a high school teacher and as a college faculty member, I have a strong background in a range of teaching strategies, but all remain fundamentally rooted in the individual learner, and what works best for their learning process. I work primarily with high school students teaching upper school Social Studies courses, but also hold experience working at the Massasoit Community College Writing Center where I tutored a wide variety of adult ages.
In addition to holding a Bachelors degree majoring in English with a Women and Gender Studies minor, I hold a Masters degree in a Transdisciplinary research based program, Critical Ethnic and community Studies. I tutor in a range of subjects such as ELA (English Language Arts) with expertise in literature comprehension + analysis, all aspects of writing (creative writing, professional writing, thesis work, drafting, structure, grammar, revisions, etc.) and American History.
I look forward to working together! :)" less...
