"Hi!

I am Amanda Gerber, have taught for 21+ years (preK-8th grade, special education and all subjects to 6th), currently an art teacher at a middle school (IMS) and yes, still young at heart.

Currently certificated in the state of WA to teach K-6 education and preK-12 special education and I have a certification to become a principal.

My degrees include BA in Liberal Arts from U.C. Riverside and a Masters in Teaching from Chapman University.

I have tutored students preK-12th grade who are neurodiverse, gifted and/or typical. Specializing in engaging students in subject matter has shown proven results in their achievement and growth.

In addition to traditional subjects such as math, science, reading, comprehension, and language arts skills of writing, I also love to help students create art, crafts, science experiments, poetry and self expression through writing.

Some children do not want to work with parents (even if qualified and fun) and that is very natural. Personally, I am a mother of two boys who are now in college. When they were young, they did not want to work with me. This is what directed me to tutoring as well. Realizing that if my children would not work with mom/dad/parent, that this might be a very real problem for many.
