My passion is History & Political Science but have a wide range of experiences to help you reach your goals! I have 20 years of classroom teaching experience in the states of Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia in multiple Social Studies subjects specializing in AP Government, American History, and Political Science. I also have certification in Special Education. After graduating with bachelor's degrees in Sports Medicine and Physical Education, I successfully passed the History certification exams in those states previously mentioned, on my first attempt. In other words, I'm completely self-taught!

My favorite teaching method is open discussion. (I don't believe in worksheets or busy work). I love finding out what students know and what they want to know by allowing them to have an open floor to discuss topics with me. I also love asking open ended questions that make them dig a little deeper and critically think about a topic. There are times that I may give them a passage to read regarding a topic before the next session with the expectation that they can freely discuss it when we get together again. Whether you have a student whose goals are mastering standards for an end-of-course test or passing an AP exam, or if you're a college student looking to conquer a certification exam to get your teaching license, I would love to help you achieve whatever your specific goal or goals may be!
