I am an English teacher and am now tutoring students during the school year and summer months. I have taught in school districts in Indiana, Ohio, and Oregon. I have had over 20 years experience tutoring students in all subject areas and most grade levels. I have tutored in learning centers and now tutor privately. I enjoy helping students learn new skills and provide enrichment so that they can excel academically. I have many pleased parents and over the years have formed close relationships with the families of my students. I also spend many hours prepping students for the SAT/ACT and PSAT to give them an extra edge when applying to the private schools and/or colleges of their choice. I help students edit college admission essays, as well.

I am available most days and my schedule is quite flexible as my students are involved in many activities.

Some of the skills I help my students excel at are: reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and math. I also have years of experience in most test prep: SSAT, HSPT, ITBS, and CoGat are frequent tests I help my students prepare for. Teaching students editing skills is imperative in all walks of life so I make sure that my students have the tools they need in order to submit outstanding essays. I also have experience with ESL students and have students in other countries who wish to polish their English skills.

As a tutor with many years of experience, I have seen firsthand what a difference one-on-one tutoring can make in a student's academic career.
