"My name is William M and I am excited to tutor and ready to use my 25+ years of experience to make your learning experiences the best I can prepare. I believe in rigorous work, exceptional behavior, and student engagement. I am a proficient reader and writer and have graduate level training on research. I have sound teaching methods for researching, analysis, and writing. My background in education was fostered from the small private school at Berry College. It was here I received most of my degree requirements to get a BS in Broad Field Social Science and Secondary Education grades 7-12 social studies and English. I also have two graduate degrees from Jacksonville State University.
I taught ISS, so I have a strong background in discipline and communication skills to aid students in the ISS room, however, my first real teaching job was from 1991-1996 at Coosa High School (Rome, GA). I taught the full gamut of classes including gifted and AP Government. In 1996, I taught Cass Middle School (Cassville, GA). I was there for five years. I was lead teacher on my team, handled discipline matters working close with principals and IEPs and gained great understanding of classroom management.
I coached Mock Trial and Softball. In 2000, I transferred to Woodland High School until I retired. I taught a gamut of classes including gifted IB and AP. I also taught Theory of Knowledge and Research for Senior portfolios. I am also sensitive to students with mental health issues and those who are struggling with school." less...
