"I am a teacher. Teaching is in every fiber of my being. I earned my BSEd from Pittsburg State in elementary education. After my early graduation I taught middle school science for two years and gained a valuable understanding of middle school students. At present, I teach fifth grade in a self contained classroom.

My absolute favorite part of teaching is spending time with the students. All kids are capable of learning, guiding students through the learning process is the highlight of my life. In order to best serve the needs of students, I have earned my teacher certification in several different areas; K-6 education, 5-8 math, 5-8 science, and 5-8 English language arts. My diverse array of skills allows me to serve students, regardless of subject preference or prejudice.

I have extensive understanding of how to teach the foundational math skills that many student lack. In addition, I make math relevant and FUN with my can-do attitude.

As a former middle school science teacher, I have an in depth knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards and design thinking. This knowledge gives me the skills I need to be an effective science tutor.

Literacy and writing are tied into each and every moment in the elementary classroom. Through my university education, I can teach all levels of readers and writers, from pre-school all the way through high school.
