"Hi! My name is Alexandra, and I’m an experienced ESL and Business English tutor. I hold an Advanced 160-hour TEFL Certificate as well as a 30-hour Teaching Business English Certificate. My background combines education and business, making me well-equipped to guide students in both everyday communication and professional settings.

While attending university for psychology and education, I began tutoring English in 2015 to elementary students by participating in a program that used storybooks to support language learning. Since then, I have gained 12 years of hands-on business experience across customer service, sales, banking, and office administration—knowledge I incorporate into my Business English lessons. In 2024, while completing my TEFL courses, I began volunteering as an English tutor for adults in my community. I have continued volunteering through the beginning of 2025, enhancing the skills I learned to become a better tutor.

As a teacher, I help students reach their full potential by fostering a growth mindset and tailoring instruction to meet individual needs. With engaging lessons that are fun and relevant, and by incorporating their interests and adapting to different learning styles, I aim to create an environment where students feel valued and motivated. To cultivate a love for life-long learning, I encourage students to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and stay motivated through laughter and resilience. I believe that assessment should reflect real-world application with applied practice, and I continuously refine my teaching practices by seeking student feedback to better meet their needs and ensure a positive learning experience.
