"Hello there! I am an experienced teacher, editor, and writer who has a love for learning. As an undergraduate, I graduated magna cum laude in neuroscience and music, and I graduated summa cum laude in my master’s in TESOL (teaching English as a second language). In addition to having a decade of teaching experience, I have also worked as a technical writer and consultant for small businesses and Google.
I have a voracious appetite for learning, and I enjoy fostering that same natural curiosity in the students that I tutor. My students range from elementary students and high schoolers, to business professionals and PhD candidates. Some of my favorite subjects to teach are English, STEM, and the arts, but I find most topics fun and fascinating.
Music, ballroom dancing, and drawing have also been passions of mine since high school. Combining both serious study with room for creative expression, I try to inspire students to become creative and proficient in their own style. The best kind of learning happens when teachers enable their students to become self-sufficient and to follow their own intuition.
I enjoy coming up with creative methods that help students make their education their own. I always try to emphasize the wonder and beauty in the subject and work off of the student's inner motivation to discover it for themselves. If they are given the proper tools and presented with an intriguing challenge, students naturally excel.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, ballroom dancing, learning how to code, making music, and practicing new languages (right now I’m learning German!)." less...
