"Hi, I’m Brittney! I’m a math tutor with a B.S. in Mathematics from Indiana University and over four years of online tutoring experience. I also spent eight years homeschooling my own children, which taught me how to adapt lessons to many different learning styles and grade levels.
I specialize in NY State Regents Math—Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. My Regents students see significant improvements because I focus on building strong foundational skills, filling gaps, and practicing with real, exam-style questions. I teach the patterns behind Regents problems so students gain confidence, speed, and accuracy—not just steps to memorize.
I also tutor SAT Math, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus, ASVAB, AMC, and general high-school and middle-school math. Across all subjects, I emphasize clear explanations, guided practice, and strategic problem solving so students understand why methods work.
As a student, I loved academic competition. I scored in the 99th percentile on the ASVAB, earned a 1420 SAT with a 750 in Math (top 2%), was a National Merit Semifinalist, and placed 1st in the Southwest region of the 2022 AMATYC Student Mathematics League. Today, my proudest achievements are my students’ results—SAT Math increases of 100+ points, AP students raising their scores from a 2 to a 5, and ASVAB students qualifying for specialized career fields after major score jumps.
My tutoring approach includes:
• A diagnostic to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses
• Customized lessons aligned to Regents standards
• Practice using real Regents-style questions
• Strategy coaching for both multiple-choice and constructed-response
• A supportive, patient environment where students feel comfortable asking questions
I make math feel less intimidating and more like a puzzle we solve together. I respond quickly to messages and welcome collaboration with both students and parents.
Feel free to reach out—I’d love to support your Regents success!" less...
