"Hello there! My name is Nneka. I'm a trained journalist with 20 years of experience. My work spans many topics such as food, travel, history, mental health and grief and can be found in the Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, the Washington Post and many more. I'm also a published author with two self-help books published by Simon & Schuster.

Mentoring and teaching writers and other students is truly a great passion of mine. I have TEFL certification that I earned while living in Spain and have taught students in language academies, business English in company and high schools. I’ve also taught independently using my journalism background online. As far as my education, I have two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Mercer University and a Master of Arts in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University. Currently, I am an MFA student studying both creative nonfiction and fiction at Antioch University Los Angeles.

My teaching philosophy is student-centered. I believe that learning and our time together is truly your determination as the student and my role is to collaborate with you in your learning.
