My name is Tremaine, and I am an accomplished educator with a diverse academic and professional background. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in English, followed by a Master’s degree in Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Columbia International University.

As a former English teacher, I focused extensively on writing instruction and later transitioned to teaching at the seminary level, where my emphasis shifted to Biblical studies, interpretation, and writing. Throughout my teaching career, I have employed a variety of pedagogical strategies, with one of the most effective being the flipped lesson approach. This approach allows students to engage with course material, such as pre-recorded lectures, videos, or readings, at their own pace before class, creating a foundation for deeper in-class discussions. During our sessions, I assign targeted questions and activities designed to foster critical thinking, student engagement, and retention of essential knowledge and skills.

In my college level courses, I utilize detailed syllabi to guide the coursework and outline assigned readings. I strive to present material in both creative and relevant ways, ensuring that students not only understand the subject matter but also have ample opportunities to apply and practice the concepts learned.

Before transitioning to seminary teaching, I taught middle school English, where I gained valuable experience in classroom management and personalized instruction. Today, most of my seminary teaching takes place online, typically with small, focused groups of five to six students, which allows for a more individualized learning experience.
