"I am a highly creative and supportive teacher/tutor with almost 30 years of experience teaching ESOL for many different organizations. I have also taught GED and Pre-GED to a diverse student population. As for voice, I am a highly seasoned singer/entertainer who has performed internationally, had my own cabaret act, and have coached would-be singers to develop their own unique sound.

My GED Prep students have included single mothers on public assistance, teenagers, and young adults ages 18-21 who were youthful probationers. All had one thing in common, their previous educational experiences had failed to inspire them to do their best. I assessed each student's capabilities and needs and developed individualized learning strategies for success in English Composition, English Reading, and Mathematics. My students then went on to receive their GEDs and obtain successful employment in their chosen fields.

I have almost 30 years of experience teaching ESOL for many different organizations including The New York Association for New Americans, the New York City Department of Education, Queens Library, and the Local 1199 SEIU (Service Employees International Union). Areas of instruction include grammar, conversation, reading, work skills, and citizenship preparation to students of all ages, ability levels, and native languages. I don't just teach language skills. I provide my students with a friendly, supportive environment where they acquire the self-confidence to succeed in college, securing employment, obtaining U.S. Citizenship, opening their own businesses, or any other personal goals. Since the pandemic started in March 2020, my classes have shifted to virtual learning on Zoom, and this has allowed me to work from home with students who are all over the globe including the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil. My students also hail from China, Romania, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Iran, Albania, Hungary, Italy, and Greece, to name a few of their native countries.
