"My name is John, an educator and musician based in Orange County. I received a Bachelors in Arts from UC Riverside and have experience playing with various musical acts in the greater LA area.

My teaching experience includes over three years of substitute and instructional assistant work in Azusa and Irvine USDs. I also have several years of background as a private trumpet teacher. My primary focus is on the mechanics of brass musicianship and musical literacy. In addition I believe that any instrumentalist should have music they know and want to learn in their study, so I am always open to incorporating material of a student's choosing.

My background in music theory is in common practice classical voice leading, as well as functional jazz harmony. The uses of either depend entirely on a student's needs and/or curriculum requirements.
