I'm as passionate about tutoring means of communication today as I was with 10 years old, changing the lives of those who are counted plagued with learning disabilities or struggle with learning new languages.

Reading and Comprehension: tutoring over 25 years, often taking only 6 months for achieved goals.

German as a second language: tutoring over 6 years, comprehension and conversation prioritized.

My Story:

Zero tolerance at home for my "imperfections" except a great grandfather who accepted the way I was . . .

And that turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

That great grandfather spoke almost only German to me.

I understood him better than any else in my family; they were speaking American English.

The English language was extremely difficult for me, from day one.

And, yes, I remember.

I took these circumstances, my dyslexia and my ADHD for what they were.

I accepted the difficulties, the pains, the fears.

I accepted the simplicity, the "superpowers", and the joys.

I saw them all and I believed in realistic opportunities,

the options most others were blind to.

While my parents were punishing me, a wonderful man and his girlfriend from church were believing in me.

And when I went to school, my teachers saw my self-created methods for making gold of what others were calling a problem and they put me to work to help others find the gold in their way of learning.

Later, moving to Germany changed my life. Surrounded by people I could understand and who worked as hard as I did was refreshing. I implemented all of my "superpowers" to make the language my own and am bilingual today.
