"I hold a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Bioscience from NC State University and am currently pursuing my M.D. at the UNC School of Medicine. I also completed CNA certification through Wake Tech. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in the sciences, including biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, anatomy, physiology, and nutrition. These subjects have remained central to both my education and my tutoring focus.

I began tutoring during college and have continued throughout medical school. My experience spans a wide range of subjects, including standardized test preparation (such as the MCAT), as well as foundational sciences like biology, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology. I currently serve as a tutor at my medical school and previously held a paid position as a biochemistry teaching assistant at NC State University for 2 semesters before graduating. Most of my tutoring has been in-person, often in one-on-one or small group settings, though while in college it was mostly online during the pandemic. Outside of working with NC State and UNC School of Medicine as a paid tutor, my other positions have been volunteer-based.

My approach involves first identifying whether a student is struggling with content or with applying knowledge to questions. I use diagrams to explain big-picture concepts, flashcards for spaced repetition, and practice questions to help students apply what they've learned. When working on test-taking strategies, I guide students through how to break down complex questions and extract what the question is actually asking and how to differentiate the answer choices based on the question. I’ve primarily worked with college and graduate-level students and aim to make challenging material more approachable through step-by-step explanations and tailored support." less...
