"Hello! My name is Aja, but I prefer to go by "Gem." I enjoy tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, AutoCAD, and Sketchup. I attended Vicksburg High School in Mississippi, enrolling in AP/Honors courses. I was an active member of the Boys and Girls Club, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. I achieved the President's Award for being in the top ten and Gator Award for community service. I graduated from The University of Mississippi as a Luckyday Academic Excellence Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Math. I wrote poetry over the years, and during my freshman year of college, I had my poem, "Beautiful Eyes," published in the Venture Online Volume 6 Freshman Writing Magazine. As a Luckyday Scholar, I was chosen to tutor my fellow scholars in College Algebra, Calculus 1-4, General Chemistry, and English. I completed my Master of Architecture degree with honors at Arizona State University.

I have helped students overcome their struggles and develop a new love for the subjects from high school through graduate school. During my free time at school, I also enjoyed proofreading papers and giving feedback on my classmates' work, helping them improve it before stressful deadlines.

Attending Mu Alpha Theta conventions at Mississippi College every year certified me to tutor the high school students for the Subject Area Testing Program (SATP) examinations in Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus, and the ACT Math section. After receiving a 99 percentile in English, 97 percentile in Math, and 99 percentile in Reading on the ACT and ACT COMPASS examinations, I further tutored students for the Stanford Achievement Tests (SAT-10), ACT, and other exams.
