"I'm Desmond! I have been a guitar player for over 10 years, and I'm entirely self taught. I've played with several different bands both in studio spaces and in live performances, and additionally have several song credits on multiple albums. Through teaching guitar I aim to guide students to the resources they need to be able to learn what they want to learn. Often it can be difficult to stick with any instrument, especially for a beginner. I attribute this issue to several things: the student feels that they cannot independently learn the instrument, they are overwhelmed by complexity and what "the right way" to learn is, and they don't feel like they are having fun with the instrument or are ever going to be able to play what they want to play. Whether it be soloing, learning simple chords, learning some songs, or your way around the fretboard, I will provide you with all the instruction necessary to reach the level you want to be at.

I have extensive experience in the Humanities and Social Studies as well. Having written various college level essays on subjects such as: Contrasting Russian and Italian Futurism, the Weimar Republic, the Paris Commune, the Origins of the Sunni Shia schism, the English Revolution and the Radical Reformation, etc. I have a particular passion for historical subjects from almost any time frame, and I have independently studied most global conflicts and revolutions of the past 300+ years. Having attended a college preparatory high school, with a particular focus on college level essays in the humanities, I have lots of experience in research, outlining, writing, and citation. Furthermore, I have extensive expertise in reading comprehension for tests, quizzes, and exams, having attending seminar humanities classes for several years.
