"Hello students and parents!
Welcome! As a tutor and college professor, it is important to me that we work together to increase your skills in your identified area of need. I thoroughly enjoy the experience of helping others succeed and offer my own knowledge, experience, and skills in the following subject areas of writing, public speaking, resumes/interviews, math, study skills, TOEFL prep, and ESL.
I am passionate about teaching, patient, and enthusiastic. My teaching style is creative, flexible, and interactive! My values include professionalism, sincerity, honesty, respect, and results-driven.
I have been an educator for over 20 years. As a professor at Pierce College in Washington state, I was nominated for the Distinguished Faculty Award as well as receiving the Outstanding ESL Teacher Award at Cypress Community College (NOCCCD) in southern California.
In reference to my own hobbies, I enjoy gardening, cooking, baking, mosaics, traveling, scrap-booking, hiking, camping, biking, and entering athletic races such as triathlons and half-marathons.
It is my goal to help each and every one of my students not only with the skills needed to learn a subject and/or language, but also to instill in them, a passion for life-long learning.
And even if you choose not to hire me as your tutor ... please carry this message with you: "There are always two sides to every coin. Choose the positive side every morning you wake up. Choose to take risks and explore. And above all, choose to do your personal best." less...
