"My tutoring experience has included helping adults improve their communication skills, so they can advance in their jobs and better enjoy their lives. I have tutored adults from Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Morocco, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia. South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Thailand, Ukraine, and Venezuela.

For more than 15 years, I have worked as a tutor with students whose second language is English. This has included students on the high school, undergraduate and graduate levels. Their assignments have ranged from class papers to doctoral dissertations.

For example, I helped two students from Saudi Arabia defend the dissertations that I helped them to write. They now have earned their doctorates in education administration. I also have helped students, both with English as their second language and as their primary language, write their dissertation proposals. I also tutored two Saudi Arabian students who earned their master’s degrees in education and aerospace administration, respectively.

Grammar, punctuation, and reading-comprehension exercises are available online during my tutoring sessions through the IXL tutoring site at no additional charge to the student.

I have worked for more than 40 years as a writer and editor including work for newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and online publications. I also have taught composition on the college level as well as writing courses.
