"I am currently a student teacher at Michigan State University and will be graduating in May 2021! I currently have a Bachelors of Arts degree from Michigan State. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language). In high school I found myself in need of a tutor and what I found was that I liked being able to work with someone one-on-one. They worked with me on what I needed and were willing to find new resources to help improve my learning. This is what my vision of teaching/tutoring has always been. I want to find new resources and ways to teach students that will work best for them!

I have 6 months tutoring experience with an elementary student in all subjects. Also, I have taught elementary students in the classroom setting, both online and in-person. I am currently a student teacher at an elementary school in the East Lansing school district, which means I am familiar with the curriculum you might be using! My experience with tutoring has been short, I have spent a lot of time in a classroom, online and in-person, where I was able to work with students one-on-one and get to know their learning style. If the students in my class do not understand or need help with the homework, I stay after with them to make sure they understand what we learned that day and how to apply it to their homework.

Words Their Way is a curriculum I use when working on vocabulary and spelling! I enjoy using this curriculum because it helps my students to learn new words and put those words to use.
