"I am a current Molecular Environmental Biology student at the University of California, Berkeley, with a strong academic foundation in the life sciences as well as a deep passion for teaching and mentorship. My studies emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and clear scientific communication—skills that strongly shape the way I teach and explain complex ideas in an approachable way.
I have several years of hands-on tutoring experience with elementary school students, working in both volunteer and classroom-based settings. I have supported students in math and English, helping them build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop positive learning habits. My approach is patient, encouraging, and highly individualized—I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and pace, whether that means breaking concepts into smaller steps, using visual examples, or incorporating real-world connections to keep students engaged.
In addition to academic tutoring, I have taught piano to children ages 4–11 for the past three years, which has strongly shaped my teaching philosophy. Music instruction has taught me how to work with a wide range of ages, attention spans, and personalities, and how to balance structure with creativity. I prioritize making learning enjoyable while still setting clear goals and expectations, helping students stay motivated and proud of their progress.
Across all my teaching experiences—one-on-one, small group, volunteer, and classroom settings—I strive to create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe confidence is just as important as content mastery, especially for younger learners, and I work to help students see themselves as capable, curious, and successful learners.
Whether your child needs support in math, English, or general academic confidence, I bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a thoughtful, student-centered approach to every session." less...
