"Math has been a meaningful part of my academic and professional journey, and I genuinely enjoy helping others feel more confident with it. I earned my undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Data Science from California State University Channel Islands. Through my studies and work, I have learned that math becomes much less intimidating when it is explained clearly and patiently, and that understanding the “why” behind concepts makes a big difference for long-term learning.
When I tutor, my goal is to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I take the time to understand how each student thinks and adjust my explanations to match their unique learning style. I focus on breaking problems into manageable steps, using examples and visual explanations when helpful, and reinforcing foundational ideas so students feel more confident moving forward. I have tutored with learning centers in topics like college algebra, calculus and trigonometry. And more recently, I was an intro to statistics teaching assistant at CSUCI while I was getting my masters.
I enjoy working with middle school, high school, and college students on a wide range of math levels from pre-algebra to undergraduate math & stats courses. Whether a student is looking for ongoing support, help preparing for an exam, or guidance through challenging homework, I aim to make each session encouraging, productive, and tailored to their goals." less...
