"Hi! I’m Gabriel, a recent UCLA graduate with a B.A. in Statistics and Data Science. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA and have been tutoring math for over 8 years, working with elementary, middle, and high school students in person. My background in a quantitative major, backed by a 1520 SAT score, means I’ve spent a lot of time mastering math myself, not just teaching it. I understand the logic behind the numbers, which allows me to see where students typically get stuck and guide them through it effectively.

In our sessions, my goal is for you to feel confident, not just “get through” the homework. I like to break problems down step-by-step, ask you to explain your thinking out loud, and then fill in any gaps together. We can review class notes, work through your homework or practice problems, and create quick summaries/formulas you can refer back to before quizzes and exams. As someone who has recently navigated high-pressure academic environments, I know how stressful it is to feel lost before a test, so I keep the environment encouraging and low pressure.
