"Hey there!
My name is Eve. I am a graduate of UCLA, where I earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing, in particular. I became interested in studying English because I grew to love the challenge of making meaning from reading something that felt touching, interesting, weird, alarming etc. and learning to articulate why. Learning to express myself in this way has been challenging, yet extremely rewarding part of my academic life and my life as a whole. Witnessing the positive changes that come from honing writing skills—in regards to academic fulfillment, self-esteem, and personal growth—motivates me to tutor others.
Beyond peer-reviewing friends' papers, I began to gain experience working with others on writing at my college newsmagazine. Through this student-led publication I worked as a content editor. I met with writers on a weekly basis to help them pitch ideas, edit their work, and give suggestions for content. Also while in college, I volunteered with high school students as a college mentor. I worked one-on-one with students in assembling their college applications. I helped generate ideas for personal statements and reviewed several drafts until each student was proud of their work.
After college, I became a tutor at the Princeton Review's tutor.com. At tutor.com I worked one-on-one with college students. I helped students with a range of writing assignments for different courses, including History, Nursing, English, Sociology and more. I can help brainstorm ideas for papers, create an outline to follow while writing, formulate a thesis, and edit drafts. Additionally, I have a concentration in creative and can help with any creative writing assignments, poetry analysis, as well as literary analysis or close reading.
Please reach out to me if you think we'd be a good fit! If you have any additional questions, I'd be happy to answer them in a direct message. Thanks!" less...
