"Hi, I’m Anya! I’m a Master’s student in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
I tutor computer science for students from high school AP Computer Science to college-level courses. I’ve taken courses including Data Structures, Computer Architecture, Algorithms, and Distributed Systems. I help students strengthen core concepts, debug effectively, and build practical coding skills. I also enjoy teaching CS fundamentals, from programming basics to problem-solving strategies, and tailor lessons to each student’s goals. I have experience teaching CS in academic and one-on-one settings: I was a TA for CS 222 (Software Design Lab) at UIUC, mentoring a team through a full software project and assisting with object-oriented design and debugging. I’ve also been a tech lead with Hack4Impact, guiding students to build web apps, and I’ve taught high school students Python through individualized lessons.
Beyond course help, I provide CS career guidance and interview prep. I’ve navigated the recruiting process and received offers from Databricks, Microsoft, Capital One, and Applied Intuition. I’ve mock interviewed peers, helping them practice data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, system design fundamentals, and behavioral interviews. I work with students preparing for internships and new grad roles, tailoring guidance to each student’s goals.
I also tutor Algebra and SAT Math. I scored a 1580 on the SAT with an 800 in Math and have excelled in Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, and Linear Algebra. I’ve worked with middle school students on Algebra-level material, focusing on building strong foundations through guided practice.
I’ve found students learn best when lessons are interactive and let them test their understanding, so I make sessions engaging by encouraging questions and working through examples. I’m happy to answer any questions and look forward to helping you achieve your goals!" less...
