"Hi! My name is Ally, and I graduated from UChicago class of 2024 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Economics. I am also on the pre-med track and applying to medical school. My GPA in undergrad was 3.7. I've been an SAT/ACT tutor for several years now on and off through Varsity Tutors starting in 2021. My ACT was 34, and SAT 1520. However, I have experience teaching students of all ages and a range of subjects like math, piano, English, and more. Overall, I've had about 5-6 years of teaching experience both in person and online.

My previous experiences include teaching English to 7th grade students for one summer in China, being a teacher's assistant for a preschool for ages 4 months-5 years old, volunteer piano teacher for students ages 14-16. In Chicago, I was a biology teacher for high school students and peer tutor in pre-med subjects for UChicago college students in subjects like microbiology, R language, genetics, physiology.

My teaching approach ranges depending on the student age group and strengths. For tutoring in particular, I like to start with asking for your course materials and topics, to tailor a learning plan specific to your strengths/weaknesses and what you want to focus on! If I have one piece of advice- that would be to practice as MANY question as you possibly can!! I also love to give general guidance on study habits and skills, as one can approach any topic with the right game plan!
