"After teaching around the world for the past twenty-one years, I have returned to Nebraska to be close to my family. A tutoring position would be a great way to continue to be connected with students and my lifelong profession.

My tutoring experiences have been in my private music studio, teaching piano, musicianship, theory, and violin. Throughout my university teaching, I have scheduled individual sessions with students when they needed extra help.

The main driver of my teaching and tutoring philosophy is guided by the principle that students should be given every opportunity to succeed. When I tutor students individually, I have the opportunity to match student needs with a personalized teaching style. For the past 11 years, I taught at the University of Maryland Global Campus. I often taught in a bridge program that prepared students for their Freshmen Writing courses. They were of varying abilities because there are no acceptance requirements for the university, as its focus is on the military demographic. Often, students were still at the high school level in the Bridge Program.

My teaching experience has been very diverse, and so there are few, if any, situations, experiences, or students I have not seen or taught. I am confident I can meet the standards you expect of tutors and mentors and keep my students engaged.
