"Hi, I’m Kathy S
My journey as a writer began with a discouraging remark from my high school guidance counselor: “You’ll never be a writer.” Today, I am an international bestselling author, ghostwriter, screenwriter, writing and publishing consultant, and university professor, proving him wrong at every turn.
I’ve been teaching for twenty years in the areas of composition and rhetoric, sophomore literature, theatre, technical writing, and marketing for authors. Whether in the classroom, online, or working one-on-one, I set my clients, high school to college students, including non-traditional students, at ease with the learning process. I’ve been a faculty member at The University of Texas-Pan American, Southwestern Community College, Pikes Peak Community College, and Southern New Hampshire University. I currently teach at National University, where many students are former military service members. I’ve worked with first-generation, non-native English-speaking students. I’ve also been an undergraduate academic advisor, assisting students in making wise choices in their academic and career paths.
I am passionate about helping students meet their goals, overcome their dislike and/or fear of writing, become more comfortable in expressing themselves, learn to analyze resources, and build solid “arguments.” I rely on the science of success tools to assist my clients in overcoming obstacles and mindset limitations. As a Certified Canfield Trainer, I integrate Jack Canfield’s Success Principles and tips for study habits into my sessions, paving the way for greater achievements during our time together.
Effective communication is vital–no matter what career path one chooses. I can guide you or your child through crafting and developing well-organized and polished college entrance essays, persuasive arguments, research papers, technical proposals, and short stories for creative writing classes." less...
