"I’m a professional educator, writer, and lifelong learner with over a decade of teaching experience in the U.S. and abroad. I hold a Master’s in English and have taught all levels of first-year college composition at Purdue University Fort Wayne as well as research writing, conversation skills, grammar, vocabulary, and phonetics both at home and abroad. My expertise covers English reading, writing, and ESL, with a special focus on helping students develop clarity, confidence, and adaptability in their communication skills.

As a former JET Program participant, I spent three years teaching in Japan, developing curriculum, and leading cultural exchange activities. Along the way and well into my 30s, I earned a black belt in Goju-Ryu karate — proof that discipline and persistence can be applied both inside and outside the classroom. I’ve also worked extensively in theater as an actor and behind the scenes, and I'm a published poet, all of which gives me a unique edge in coaching public speaking, presentation skills, and creative expression. I am also well-versed in teaching visual rhetoric and literary criticism/critical reading skills.
