My journey in education began after a fifteen year career as a chef, where I honed my skills in restaurants from New York City to Florida to Colorado. When I was hired to teach culinary skills to disadvantaged youth in Louisville's West End, my eyes were opened to the wide, wonderful world of education! It wasn't long before I was back in school pursuing a teaching degree in the social sciences. Now, with a passion for education and a track record of six years as a certified teacher in both public schools and private tutoring centers, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide your academic journey. Currently serving as the lead teacher at a day program for 6-12th graders with learning differences, I'm deeply committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all my students, regardless of age, ability, or skill level.

I am always chasing new certifications and honing my expertise as an educator, but my specialty lies in holistic social sciences and humanities education, where I empower students to not only excel academically but also develop essential life skills for a rapidly evolving world. When we study the history, culture, and politics of different societies, it helps us understand how complex human life is. This understanding makes us more empathetic, open-minded, and creatively critical. It teaches us how to form meaningful relationships and solve complex problems in a pluralistic world.
