"Hi! I'm Josh.

I just graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) summa-cum-laude (3.97 GPA), where I studied Political Science & Russian Politics. Before college, I served in the infantry for about two years.

At Penn, I was certified as a writing tutor and trained by the university. I specialize in metacognitive reflective writing, which teaches students to narrate their past and reflect on the different circumstances that created the values and skills core to who they are today.

My students have been accepted to elite schools, including Penn, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, George Washington, Stanford, University of Michigan, Georgetown and NYU, as well as the UCs. They have been shortlisted as finalists in the selective John Locke essay competition, and my successful students span both undergraduate and graduate school (medical, law and business inclusive).

Personally, I've received competitive grants such as the Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. State Department, and have interned with the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of Transportation. I've started working for the Department of Commerce in late August 2023, and can answer any of your political science, AP Government or international relations questions with a unique blend of knowledge and personal experience.

I know from the military that diligent work with experienced advisors produces excellent results. Education is not one-size-fits-all, and I've been trained to identify and support the unique strengths and challenges each student brings to the table.
