"I’m a student at the University of Southern California majoring in Legal Studies, with a deep interest in writing and communication. As a co-manager and editor for Elevate Editing—a student-run essay editing initiative—I’ve reviewed and polished hundreds of personal statements and academic essays that have helped students gain admission to top universities such as UChicago, UPenn, Georgetown, and UCLA.
Throughout all four years of high school, I served as a peer tutor, helping classmates refine essays, strengthen arguments, and improve grammar and clarity across various subjects. In my senior year I co-managed a non-profit project, where I edited over 100 academic and college application essays for students admitted to universities such as USC, UPenn, and Georgetown.
My tutoring approach is all about clarity and confidence. Whether it’s helping students brainstorm ideas for essays, refine arguments, or strengthen grammar and flow, I focus retaining their unique voice while developing their ideas. I’ve also worked as a literacy and writing mentor for children and teens through school and community programs, which taught me how to adjust my methods to match students at all their various goals and comfort levels.
I know firsthand how stressful writing assignments and college applications can be—but I also know how rewarding it is to see your work come to life. My goal is to make writing less intimidating and help students build skills that last far beyond a single paper or application. For fun, I power-lift for USC, play tennis, wrestle, and I’m involved in student government!" less...
