"I received a B.A. from the University of Virginia where I was a history major and a government minor. Later, I received my certificate in Social Studies (7-12), middle school education (4-8), and earned a M.Ed. I have taught most of the core social studies classes as well as AP US Government , AP Research, and AP Macroeconomics at a top 100 high school (US News and World Report). In all 3 AP classes my students score far above the national average. I have taught for over 30 years and have experience tutoring online and in person. Additionally, I was a reader for AP US Government and Politics exam for over a decade and have been a reader for the AP Macroeconomics exam for 3 years.

I have also helped students with the college application process for over 25 years. I can help with resume writing, college essay writing, personal statements, interviews, proofing, etc. I have helped students gain admission into all levels of colleges and universities. Both students and guidance counselors at my school have asked me to edit college and scholarship applications/essays.

When I tutor students, I try my best to meet their individual needs. I try to find out the specific areas the student has more trouble with and look to concentrate on those topics. I have multiples of ways to explain topics, many sample AP questions, and try to explain concepts both orally and visually when possible.
