"Hello! I’m Allie and if you’re in need of a life sciences tutor you’ve come to the right place! After high school I attended Miami University where I studied Microbiology and French. After a few years of study I decided to switch gears and transferred to University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where I completed my BS in Neuroscience. Soon after, I started my job working in an academic research lab investigating metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. I love my job because I get to do hands on work to prove scientific theories and our lab’s data is regularly used in publications!

I’m also currently in my final year of a Master’s program where I’m studying Pharmacogenomics. This is the study of how your genetic makeup influences your response to a particular drug, and it’s a very interesting field! I have extensive educational experience in general biology, cell biology, neurobiology, pharmacology, as well as human and microbial genetics. Not only have I studied these concepts, I get a refresher course every day when I walk into work!

I have experience tutoring peers and colleagues, and I’m comfortable with high school and college level biology.
