"I have taught middle school and high school mathematics for over 35 years, and I especially enjoy working with students one-on-one.

It is important to me that students truly understand what they are learning. While rote practice has a place in mathematics, it is valuable only up to a point. My goal is to help students succeed by developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, recognizing the connections between those concepts, thinking critically, and applying their knowledge to solve problems effectively.

Even when specific mathematical skills are rarely used in everyday life, the habits of mind behind them—reasoning, persistence, and analytical thinking—are essential and enduring.
