"I hold a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences and am currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student. My academic background includes extensive coursework in the life sciences, chemistry, human and animal physiology, animal anatomy, microbiology, neurobiology, among many others. I have taken these courses at both a graduate and now professional level. The foundation my coursework laid is something that I complemented with both hands-on laboratory experience in biomedical/biomedical engineering research and clinical exposure in both human and animal medical facilities. These experiences have helped me develop a deeper understanding of core scientific concepts, and the ability to explain them in a way that makes sense to others. One of my favorite things I have been able to do is bridge basic sciences and clinical sciences.

While I do not have a ton of experience tutoring one-on-one - this is a first for me- I do have several years of experience tutoring and mentoring undergraduate students in anatomy and physiology, both formally as a teaching assistant and informally through peer support and structured review sessions in small group settings. My teaching style is highly interactive and adaptable. I really like to use visual aids, analogies, and active recall methods tailored to those I work with. While working as a TA for an anatomy course, I led small group discussions, reviewed exam material, and helped students build confidence in mastering complex materials.

I’ve worked with a variety of learners, from kids at academic summer camps to college students and adults. I really enjoy seeing people get curious and start thinking critically about what they’re learning. Since I’m in a professional program myself, I know how challenging certain subjects can feel, so I always aim to make things a little less intimidating and a lot more engaging. I’m confident I can help students at any level feel more comfortable with the material and actually enjoy the learning process." less...
