"Hello! My name is Evan, and I am a dedicated violinist and educator currently pursuing a degree in violin performance from ASU School of Music. My formal training on the violin began at age 9 in a small Wyoming town; I got what is considered a ‘late’ start compared to many of my peers, but my passion for music was able to push me to incredible heights, eventually landing me at the renowned Interlochen Arts Academy where I studied classical violin and graduated with my degree in 2025. So far in my career, I have had the opportunity to make music in some really great places. This includes a tour with the National Youth Orchestra in 2023, where I performed at Carnegie Hall and in the Dominican Republic. I’ve also traveled overseas to Italy and Bosnia to perform in recent years. These experiences have all provided me with a rich understanding of technique and artistry that I am always eager to share with my students.
In my private studio, I have over 3 years of teaching students ranging from young children picking up the violin for the first time to adult learners who are just starting out or revisiting their passion for music. Because I grew up in a community with limited access to specialized instructors, I am especially passionate about making music education affordable, fun, and accessible to students in all settings — whether that’s in person at my home, or through online lesson formats. I focus a lot on building a strong technical foundation, emphasizing ergonomic technique and tension free playing, as this is what leads to true freedom of expression in violin playing!
I believe that every student does best learning through their unique style, so I’m always looking for ways to tailor my approach to match your individual goals and skill level. Whether you are looking to get serious on the violin and prepare for auditions etc, or just looking to play for maximum personal enjoyment, my goal is to provide you with all the tools you need to overcome any of the challenges that come your way!" less...
