"I am a student working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis and have developed solid analytical, communication, and leadership skills that allow me to tutor effectively. My background in education includes studies in writing-intensive political science and humanities classes, which have made my critical reading, argumentation, and written communication strong.
In terms of personal tutoring experience, I worked as an English Tutor at Simply Math and Reading in Missouri. There, I provided one-on-one language support to students, including reading skills, writing guidelines, and personalized skill attainment. I adapted my methods based on the age, learning type, and issue areas of every student so that the sessions remained productive and efficient. My age bracket and students' skill level allowed me to learn how to develop a compassionate and flexible tutoring approach.
Besides that, during my time as a Camp Counselor at Ivy Camps USA in Jakarta, Indonesia, I led educational and recreational programs for children aged 6 to 14. I was responsible for implementing Ivy Camps' curriculum, promoting group learning and individual instruction in a dynamic environment that required continuous attention to developmental needs.
Beyond these roles, I’ve held leadership positions as Education Chair of the African Students Association and Treasurer of the Muslim Students Association at WashU, both of which required organizing educational programs and managing team dynamics. Collectively, my academic background, professional experience, and leadership roles have equipped me with the knowledge, patience, and teaching skills necessary to support learners effectively." less...
