"I am a graduate of Georgia State University. I received my Master of Arts in Gerontology with a focus on research and my Bachelor of Sciences in Public Policy with a focus on local management and governance. Since graduation, I have worked 4 years as a research assistant with the University System of Maryland and worked with organizations gathering donations for various non-profit causes. I gained a significant portion of my teaching experience as a teaching assistant at Georgia State University (GSU). While there I had the time to support a full time lecturer with 5 undergraduate courses. I had the responsibility of providing grader support to a full time lecturer. I assisted this particular lecturer with all of her courses, of which there were five classes, with 3 classes occurring in the same semester.

The largest class section that I have experience supporting contained 105 students of which I was responsible for grading weekly reflections as well as mid-term exams using a standard rubric and providing individual feedback. While this course was held in person, the other four classes were held online where I set up weekly quizzes and interacted with students via BlackBoard and Desire2Learn. The lecturer to whom I provided support was a great teaching mentor, with a focus on teaching, my mentor focused on curriculum development, lecturing, and meeting with students when issues escalated beyond my authority to fully resolve an issue.

As a standard I enjoy linking students' backgrounds and interests with subject material and bring my own experience in teaching and in life to my tutoring sessions. In my spare time I enjoy laughing at humor, relaxing, being in nature, staying active, and when I'm able and have time - baking desserts.
