"Hi =) My name is Cynthia. I have a Bachelor of Arts - Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 degree. I am a certified teacher and hold certifications for grades K-8 and ESL. I consider myself an eternal learner and enjoy helping others achieve their educational goals. I have served as an educator at the elementary and middle school levels.

I am committed to education and feel that the awards that I received illustrate my dedication and hard work. During the course of my education I graduated with honors, magna cum laude, with an Associate of Arts in Teaching. I received an Example of Excellence Recognition for a performance assessment submitted for my Bachelors degree. I also received a CLA+ Proficient Performance badge for Written Communication/Critical Thinking from the Council for Aid to Education.

I absolutely love Math. It is my favorite subject. I feel that when one loves a subject, they enjoy teaching it, as well. With a love of math comes a willingness to explore many ways to deliver instruction. I feel that it is important to help young scholars approach math with a variety of strategies in order to improve their understanding.

I have received highest scores possible in writing mechanics on several tests and have received a CLA+ Proficient Performance for Written Communication. I appreciate opportunities to help writers, at all skill levels, become successful.

I also understand the desire that many families have to homeschool their children. I homeschooled my son from 3rd grade through High School. In the beginning, my first steps into homeschooling were frightening, and there was a lot of uncertainty. Having graduated my son, in hindsight, I can honestly say that homeschooling was the absolute best decision for him.
