"I am a professional researcher and writer who loves inspiring passion in others for reading and writing in both English and Russian!
I graduated magna cum laude with honors from Bryn Mawr College with a double major in Comparative Literature and Russian Language and Area Studies. In the past, I have tutored undergraduates in my college's writing center to help them improve their academic and creative writing. I also volunteered in Russia helping native Russian speakers of all ages learn English and tutored first- and second-year students of Russian during an immersive summer program. Finally, in my professional career I have provided peer reviews for colleagues, helping them sharpen their language and arguments to create concise and compelling research articles. In my spare time I sing and play guitar and have nonprofessional experience in teaching both.
I am an engaging tutor and encourage my students to come to answers on their own, rather than simply parroting back what I've told them. I'm always looking for new ways to improve my methods through gaining experience and reading literature in the field. I am a firm believer that each student has their own unique needs and perspective, and strive to teach in ways that connect with them as individuals. Please reach out if that is what you are looking for!" less...
