"Throughout my years in high school, I've found that I have loved to explain things. I love seeing the budding confidence of peers as they wrap their brains around new concepts. And when it comes to writing, I love nothing more than seeing peers grasp its complexities and nuances and gain confidence in their abilities. As a graduating high school senior, I think I'm uniquely equipped to do what I'm growing to love: helping other students write better!
I'll be graduating with high honors from my high school and attending UPenn next year. I've received 5s (highest score possible) on the AP Comparative Government, AP European History, AP Language & Composition, and AP US History exams. My highest SAT Language score was 770/800 (with 44/44 questions on the writing section), alongside 730/760 PSAT Language (for which I earned National Merit finalist standing).
I've also completed several rigorous out-of-school programs through Stanford and Yale that have bolstered my intellectual curiosity and love of writing. And my biggest extracurricular pursuit has been my work as editor-in-chief of my school newspaper, through which I've helped lots of peers strengthen their writing skills and develop their voices on the page.
My goal for kids I work with is always to develop CONFIDENCE. You can think, and talk, and argue, so you can write! I don't want you to engross yourself too much in set rules; I want you to develop a compelling VOICE on the page through which you express your unique self! I hope that, as someone who was in your shoes not long ago, I can help you on that journey :)" less...
