"Growing up, I had an interest in learning about the world. As a teenager, I discovered the richness and open-ended possibility contained in the field of philosophy, which studies large-scale questions that are often not covered in other subjects. I believe that the pursuit of knowledge is successful when the process of study harmonizes with the student’s own nature and disposition, so that learning becomes natural and joyful.

I graduated from Cornell University, B.A. Philosophy, Distinction in All Subjects, 4.0 GPA, after transferring there upon completing my A.A. in Liberal Arts, with High Honors, from a community college. Subsequently, I became a tutor. I find tutoring to be a fruitful way to offer the value of knowledge to students and learners. In my tutoring sessions, I seek that students engage with the material in a way that stands in harmony with their own interests and dispositions. I seek to create an environment where the student feels welcomed.

My skills in essay composition, analysis, and critical thinking are excellent, and I am happy to contribute to your success. I offer tutoring services in English writing, English language, English reading, philosophy, and speech and debate, as well as subjects connected to these. In philosophy, I also offer serial sessions, where we proceed through either the Republic of Plato or the Nicomachean Ethics of Aristotle in a personalized manner.

It is uplifting to see a student genuinely enter a new phase in understanding as we work together on the material. Through your study and acquisition of knowledge, you attain your own personal empowerment, and my role is to assist you in your learning path.

I offer tutoring for students and learners intending to improve their understanding in their current classes, are preparing for upcoming examinations, or simply wish to improve their understanding of a particular subject, in general. If you are interested in my tutoring services, you may contact me using the link on the Wyzant page. With kind regards, Robert." less...
