"I started as a Writing Center Tutor at Hunter College, where I tutored graduate and undergraduate students across disciplines on essays, papers, poems, personal statements, and creative pieces. At the same time, I earned a BA in film production, writing scripts, directing short films, and creating digital media art. After that, I spent 4 years teaching English in Japan in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I have written short stories, screenplays, media analysis, and participated in a range of creative writing and fiction workshops.

I use a conversational approach to tutoring influenced by the Socratic method I was trained in. Together, we will analyze the expectations you or your professors have for what you are writing, plan your research and revision process if necessary, and go through your drafts step by step. I specialize in helping students and writers when they are completely stuck or can’t find a starting point, helping them find their footing and figuring out where to take their next steps. My technique is question-based. As we delve deeper into your writing, our back-and-forth will drive you further to unlock the ideas and connections needed to make your points and conclusions.
