"My love for science started early—I was the kind of kid who stayed up past bedtime reading about stars and planets. That curiosity led me to study Astronomy and Physics at Yale, and then earn a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Cambridge. Since then, I’ve worked as a researcher at the University of Pennsylvania and Carnegie Mellon University, exploring the math behind the mysteries of the universe—dark energy, gravity, and black holes.

While my academic path has focused on physics, math has always been at the heart of what I do. What first drew me into theoretical physics was the elegance of the math—especially calculus. In my research, I use algebra, pre-calc, and calculus every day, so I don’t just know the material—I live and breathe it. That’s why I love tutoring both math and physics, from high school through college level. I also help students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT, where understanding the logic and structure of math questions is just as important as knowing formulas.

I first started teaching in grad school, where I led sessions in general relativity and cosmology for undergrads and master’s students. I worked with both large groups and small ones, and I especially enjoyed helping students figure out their own learning style and build confidence with challenging material. These days, I bring that same energy and patience to one-on-one tutoring.
