"Hello I'm Isaac! I’m a Yale University second year pre-med student passionate about helping others learn and grow through science and education. I hold a 3.9 GPA at Yale, reflecting rigorous coursework in biology, chemistry, psychology, and research-based seminars, which has strengthened both my conceptual understanding and my ability to clearly explain complex material.
I performed strongly on standardized exams, earning a 1520 SAT score and 5s on AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology. I am highly qualified to tutor biology, general and AP chemistry, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and test preparation, and I tailor my approach to each student’s learning style and goals.
I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience across a variety of settings. Before college, I led Bloomington Community Tutoring group, a small community supporting children from restaurant families. In this role, I provided one-on-one and small-group tutoring in subjects including algebra, biology, and english, adapting lessons to each student’s needs and learning style. I also volunteered at the WonderLab Science Museum, teaching children science through hands-on experiments and approachable explanations that made complex concepts fun and understandable. These experiences taught me how to communicate clearly, motivate students, and break down difficult topics into digestible steps.
As a tutor, I believe that every student can thrive when given the right tools and encouragement. I focus on understanding each student’s unique challenges, breaking down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps, and creating a supportive environment where they feel confident asking questions. Whether preparing for a test, catching up in class, or exploring a new subject, I aim to make learning meaningful and empowering.
