"Hello, my name is Yolanda.  I have over twenty years of experience teaching English and Spanish to students in grades K-5 in a public school setting and as a private ESL tutor. What I love most about tutoring is watching the students build confidence as they gain proficiency in the target language.

I am certified in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language with a Bilingual Spanish endorsement. I also specialize in helping  elementary and middle school students in grades 3-8 achieve oral and written proficiency in Spanish. I implement a multi-sensory approach to accommodate learners with diverse learning styles and tailor instruction to meet students’ needs. My reading instruction consists of phonics, decoding and comprehension strategies.

I was born in Cuba, and am a native speaker of Spanish. I hold a Bilingual Endorsement in Spanish.
