"As a mother of three grown children & a grandmother of four young children, I am familiar with the balancing act of raising a family, running a household, holding down a job, and still finding the time and having the energy to help a struggling child with learning. I have 17 years experience as a TSS, where I worked one on one with children in the classroom. Many of my clients struggled due to a diagnosis on the autism spectrum. Others had a diagnosed learning disability, and still others were typical children who were just having a hard time with reading, or grasping concepts in the language arts. I have been able to help every child I have worked with, including those having autism, some of whom were nonverbal. I was a reading tutor for 5 years with the Carbon County Volunteers for Literacy, and tutored adult learners in my home. I currently tutor one of my own grandchildren, and she is experiencing much improvement and a much higher level of self esteem in the classroom. I have a passion for the English language, and feel that there is nothing more important than fluent reading skills, correct grammar, & the ability to be an effective writer.
