"I hold a PhD in Information Science, an interdisciplinary social science focused on how people search for and use information with technology. During my doctoral program, I completed advanced coursework in pedagogical theory and teaching, was awarded the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence’s Future Faculty Fellowship, and taught required courses to undergraduate and Master’s students at UNC Chapel Hill. I am passionate about helping students develop essential critical thinking skills.

My specialties include using information, research, and critical thinking to tackle any learning or information challenge and formulating a convincing argument and supporting it with evidence.

I have a knack for picking up new concepts quickly and explaining them so others can understand and apply them easily. For example, I’ve studied topics ranging from gravitational waves and Crohn’s disease to cloud computing, genotypes, and linguistic productivity. I can help your student develop a strategy for learning something new, including identifying and using resources efficiently, synthesizing information into a clear framework, understanding how ideas connect and influence each other, and using that framework to answer new questions, generate insights, and test hypotheses.
