Spanish for Traveling Series

Spanish is the most popular foreign language learned by native American speakers. With the beginning of the 21st century, the learning of Spanish as a second language has grown significantly. Since that time Spanish has superseded French in becoming the second most studied language in the world.

In the following video you can learn some basic Spanish phrases such as greetings or chatting with your fellow paisanos (countrymen).

Spanish Basics Part 1

Many people want to travel to Spain or other Spanish speaking countries of which the list is long: Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay, Equatorial Guinea, etc. Of course, you can travel without knowing any Spanish, in this case your trip couldn’t be compared with the amazing adventure, that awaits the traveler, who speaks Spanish. If you can’t communicate in Spanish, you will be forced to confine yourself to tourist resorts, where people speak some English. It’s your choice, but if you want to explore the area and get to know the local people, you need to know at least basic Spanish. You need it for simple things, such as reading signs and menus, asking directions or telling a cab driver, where you want to go. Hispanic people are amazingly generous, and if you speak Spanish you will find yourself being welcomed in a way, that would never happen, if you spoke only English. These two videos help you to start your journey, learn some new words and not get lost in the airport.¡Buen viaje!
